Shaping Machine It is used when a large amount of metal has to be removed. The machine will move forwards and backwards pushing the cutting tool as the disc rotates. Crank and Slider Mechanism When the cam rotates, the rod connected to it will push the slider into the tube and out of the tube as the cam is an eccentric cam. A pawl will follow the wheel when it is turn. The rachet can only rotate anticlockwise. It will get stuck when it rotate clockwise.
When a reciprocate motion is needed, a quick return crank mechanism will be used to convert rotary motion. The stick will rotate left to right when the disc rotate.
